Our Wedding Photo Shoot

Kilvercourt_picnic

Kilver Court played host to a deliciously decadent wedding photo shoot last week. With brides dipping their toes in the waterfall, beautiful picnics laid out on the lawn with abandoned strawberry tarts and Champagne and photographers hiding in the foliage, it was an interesting day to be wandering around the gardens.

And what a fun day we had making the perfect fairytale wedding, with 2 stunning brides, a handsome groom in Scottish garb and very cute and surprisingly well behaved pageboy. Flowers by celebrated local florist, Young Blooms, a rowing boat, 2 vintage cars, a parasol and enough bunting for a parade, were some of the props that made the day such a success. Plus that ever honoured guest, the sun, was around to keep everyone smiling.

We were very lucky to have professional wedding photographer and photo journalist, Olivier Burnside with us. He was patient and helpful while we wandered around the gardens and function rooms, and then the gardens, and then the function rooms again to get the perfect shots.

Bianca Blue was our bride and she wore a 1920’s inspired dress with lace appliqué created especially for the day by Vintage wedding dress designer Meryl Smart. Bianca, who did her own hair and makeup managed to stay looking beautiful and fresh throughout the shoot.

We also had the gorgeous Bella Saul, who modeled the dress she personally designed for her own wedding, which took place only last month to Roger and Monty Saul's son, Will. Bella brought along their adorable son, Henry- the perfect page boy, who kept everyone entertained throughout the day.
Fosters, our caters, worked tirelessly all day to manage the shoot and dress the rooms. They showcased beautifully how Kilver really is the perfect venue for your big day, quirky and fun; the gardens are loved by brides and photographers alike for their breathtaking beauty and dramatic back drop of the imposing Charlton Viaduct. The Dovecot, an eccentric stone round house within the garden walls, is licensed for civil ceremonies and is a romantic and intimate setting nestled secretively in the lush greenery beside the lily encrusted lake.
Kilver boasts 2 more licensed rooms within the main building, the Directors’ Suite and Jardines Ballroom. The Directors suite has beautiful views over the garden and Jardines has full length French windows that open onto the rose garden. It is also the perfect reception room for larger parties.
If you would like to come and meet our suppliers and see the rooms and gardens, join us for our wedding fair, Sunday 27th October 11-3pm, for a day full of delicious wedding delights. Alternatively our experienced event team are on hand to show you around at anytime. To make an appointment email: events@kilvercourt.com or visit our website for more information.
