Father's Day, Sunday, 16th June

Our dads- with an air of the unsung hero floating round them like a mist, they soldier through birthdays and special days, trying not to forget everyone else’s and sort of hoping that we, if not ignore their special days, at least leave them in the garden shed to get on with it in peace.

But father’s day is the one day that we can drag our dad’s into the lime light, showering them with the attention they so rightly deserve. For all the shelves they’ve put up and the cups of tea they’ve made- masters at showing us they love us, rather than necessarily saying it.

A common problem when it comes to dad present buying is a slight cold sweat and panic attack about what on earth to get. If socks spring immediately to mind, and then are quickly discarded as hideously uninventive, then this may be the year to go retro and get the socks!

We have cotton socks with a twist- a uniquely British manufactured selection in a range of bright and strong colours that will jazz up the most colourless of clothing, and they are reduced from £14.50 - £9.50, or 3 pairs for £25.

The Emporium Penrose: 3 Ties for £100, 3 socks for £22, Shirt & Tie for £85, Shirt, Tie & Cufflink for £110
Have a look at some of these other Father’s Day gifts on offer this week from the silly (Darth Vader mugs) to the sublime (Penrose shirts).

If it’s something to do on the day you are looking for then bring him along to the gardens and hardy plant nursery for a relaxing day out, maybe throwing in a few hints on what he can do on the garden at home.
